DEB FERRARA

Singer-songwriter and producer Deb Ferrara has a knack for a memorable chorus and sweet layered vocals.

Over the years, Ferrara has collaborated with artists, songwriters and producers of all genres, and has worked with multiplatinum, Grammy winning producer Rob Fusari (Destiny's Child, Will Smith, Lady Gaga) on several projects. Her music can be heard in various film, TV and advertising outlets, including MTV, Paramount, Time Warner and Ricola, and more recently HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones.

Ferrara's lifelong connection with music began at age five when her single “Christmas Time (is Near)” climbed to #35 on the charts. At the age of 12 she started playing guitar, by 16 she was writing her own music, and at 18 Ferrara recorded and co-produced “Go Away”, a five-song EP that won two Billboard songwriting awards and the attention of Chrysalis Records.

She is the founder and host of ‘NJ Songwriters in the Round,’ an influential monthly showcase series, sponsored by both ASCAP and BMI, that ran for many years at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ. The series kept Ferrara at the forefront for identifying, discovering and developing up-and-coming artists.   Ferrara also hosted a ‘Girls Night Out’ series at NY’s legendary Bitter End, and co-hosted the NJ Chapter of the national series, ‘Chick Singer Night.’ Aware of music’s power to make a difference, Ferrara spearheaded several charity concerts for The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Musicians on Call.

During this time she released “Anything But Ordinary,” an original album that garnered rave reviews and won her a spot to showcase at the Songwriters Hall of Fame, appearances at SXSW and a featured audio portrait on the ASCAP website.

Always active in the music community, Ferrara was formerly the VP of Women in Music and a voting member of the Recording Academy.

Project details

Deb Ferrara is set to release her highly anticipated new EP, "Breathe," a deeply personal collection of songs that reflects her journey through loss and perseverance. The EP is scheduled for release on xx (late May – June).

"Breathe" features a compilation of previously unfinished songs that capture Ferrara's emotional journey during her darkest days when her husband, Bob Warren, and shortly thereafter her father, a prominent writer/producer in the music industry, passed away. In April, she will be in London to have the EP mastered at Abbey Road Studios. Accompanied by a published journalist documenting her recording experience, the project aims to provide solace and inspiration to those who have experienced similar loss and challenges.  “Breathe” has already sparked interest, with one of the new songs, "All Comes Down to Love," attracting attention for a sync opportunity even before its official release.
